I got an e-mail about Mary today. She had a seizure and her doctor ordered a new MRI of her brain. The tumor looks different on this MRI and Mary's doctors are not yet sure if the tumor has grown or if there is still swelling related to her radiation. Her husband has been out of town for work, but he's coming home. Could you please keep Mary and her family in your prayers again.

    Thank you,

Late last week it was reported in the local news that a young man had been struck by a freight train, and was killed. It appeared he had intentionally stepped in front of the train. I found out today it was a young man who had gone to the same high school as my youngest niece - he was one year ahead of her. Talented family involved in music and theater, as was my niece - so I recognized the name. Sad that someone so young chose the option he did. Maybe he felt like he had no other choices or that his life would not get any better
So if you could say a prayer for Jacob's family, please.

    Thank you,

For all the people affected by the tragedy at the Boston Marathon today.

Somehow tho, you always want more. I'll be calling him sometime this week to see how his other tests have gone. I'm praying for the best. I always said that he'd probably outlive me, and I'm the youngest. He's the oldest of the 3 kids and the most ornery - so he just may do it yet!
I just spoke with my brother. He was back down to FL and consulted with the specialist where he had been treated before, and the news isn't all that great. Without surgery and a valve replacement, he probably only has a year left. They wanted him to stay and have surgery done right away, but he elected to go back to NC and get things in order first. He will go back to FL and have an aortic stent on 4/28, and the following day will have the valve replacement- open heart surgery since his arteries are too constricted for them to thread thru with the new valve. I just don't have a good feeling at all about all of this. I pray that I'm wrong. Please remember him in your prayers - I think he really needs all that he can get.

Count me in on the prayer chain, Ellie. You and he will have a candle burning for you both.

I would also like to ask that you think of my friend Clare, the one who lives in England. She had anal cancer over 5 years ago and went to hell and back w/surgery, chemo/radiation, etc. She's been cancer free but now she is having surgery tomorrow for adhesions. She doesn't seem upset about it but I'm probably concerned b/c I can't be there. I've asked that someone from her family call or email me but she told me not to count on it. None of them are good about that sort of thing and I don't want to call her until I know she's up to it.
    Blessings,
    Mary
