Rob's Memorial Tree - Thank You Pet Talk

My first big thank you is to Phred who made many phone calls, etc. to make this tree become a reality. I think Carrie (Gabbygirl) also helped find the tree. And Karen (the mayor) wrote the beautiful poem that was printed and framed for us. Thank you, thank you to each one of them. And thank you to each one of you who donated to make this memorial possible. It is beautiful and very near our son's grave.

For those of you who do not know what I am talking about my son, Rob, died in July. Amy (Cincy's mom) and Christy (Dakota's mommy) are his sisters. It has been a terrible loss for all of us. Friends have helped us through and this community of Pet Talk has been a God send to us sending cards, pms, and the beautiful gifts I will know show in pictures.

    First the tree

    Rob's Marker ( we haven't got a stone yet)

A vew from behind the tree towards Rob's grave (Rob is next to the last stone of the left)

Here is the framed saying Karen had made (again with Fred's help as he saw that it was framed and brought to the funeral home as he drove several hours to be here for the funeral home viewing and the funeral and watch over our dogs (Christy's included making a total of 8) so we could be at the viewing and dinner after the funeral.

The flowers came with the framed picture. The picture says (very nicely printed in script)
    In Memory of
    Robert Dale Kuhn

A light went out too soon
A soul who will be missed
    We give you this tree
    In a lasting memory
May it give peace and comfort
To all those left to mourn
    Rest now, Rob,
    You will not be forgotten
    Know you were loved
    And may you find peace

    From
    The Pet Talk Community

The frame is beautiful, the thoughts expressed beautiful, the artifcial flower arrangement was beautiful and now the beautiful red, leafed tree is beautiful.
We cannot thank any of you enough for giving us this wonderul, lasting memory of our boy!

    The tree is beautiful Diana.
When my mother past away, I was given
    a rubber plant.
I planted it in the back yard and now it is a small tree.
When ever I look upon the rubber tree, it reminds
    me of my mother.

You are still in my thoughts and prayers. The tribute is lovely, as are the silk flowers and the tree. I don't come here much anymore, but you have still been in my thoughts and prayers. I'm glad the folks here in PT were so incredibly comforting and kind to you during such a time of loss. There are some truly wonderful people here in these forums.

I haven't made it to Findlay yet to see Rob's tree, as it was just planted this week, but I wanted to echo my mom's thank you's.

Thank you to all of you who continue to keep us in prayer. This is so difficult to deal with - we need all the prayers we can get.

Carl was working when I went to take the first pictures of Rob's tree. He came home in the afternoon and we went again to see it. He thought this picture might give you a better idea of high tall the tree is - Carl is 5'10" tall.

We thought you were suppose to talk all the "things" off the graves the first of November but we noticed that all the other graves still had lots on them. So we added this yesterday

The bottom dangly thing is a humming bird. When I asked God to let me know if Rob was okay - He sent a hummimgbird, my most favorite bird, to the flowers in our front window. The hummingbird will always be our sign that Rob is okay.

I forgot I hung the angel that has been hanging from my rearview mirror on his marker. (Can you see it?) We now have a hummingbird hanging there. I am not sure that Rob ever really appreciated my angel collection but......

One last picture, Carl by Rob, the tree in front of me.

    Again, thank you everyone!
