My little rescue mission with Tipper

I came home from an appointment to find a dog wandering around in my back yard. She had collar and tags so I went out with a leash and treats to see if I could coax her to me. She wasn't much interested in the treats but she was a bit curious about me, and I snapped a leash on her. She had a National ID and a 1-800 Banfield number to call so I took her info and called, got her owner's name and number, and called. He was home, and said that he thinks when he clipped her out he didn't clip her securely. I gave him my address info and he came and picked her up, thanking me profusely. She was happy to see him and bounced right into his van. He said her name is Tipper. She looks like a husky mix, perhaps with GSD? She reminded me a bit of Glacier's Sleet.

I got a few pics of her to share.

Bye bye sweet girl. I sure enjoyed meeting you, and you lifted my spirits today. Stay home and safe now, Tipper.

How wonderful that you were able to get her safely home. Good work Jess, and smart thinking Tipper, for wandering into that yard. It's also a good thing that Tommy and Tasha didn't scare her away by barking at her. Well done, everyone!

A spirit-lifter indeed! She'd lift my spirits if she were to wander into my day, too! Good thing an honest pet lover found her! I was glad to read she was happy to see her dad!

Thank you so much for the kind comments. I think many would have been afraid of her, she is a formidible looking dog, to many would look "wolfish" I think, with her size, black coat and white markings. As you can see though, she was a total sweetie. When I walked her around front, she kept doing play bows, grabbing the leash in her mouth and acting silly and playful.

Oh, and I forgot to mention in the pictures she's not looking at me, she's looking at Tommy and Tasha watching her through the deck door. Tash slipped out by accident and they sniffed, Tash had her hackles up but her tail down and Tipper wasn't concerned much but had her tail up. They sniffed intensely for a few seconds and then Tash walked away and I got her back inside. Was pretty worried for a few moments though!

I would have been, too! Glad it was an uneventful meeting, though.

Wow, what a gorgeous dog! You've done good Jessica, and by the sounds of it both her and her owner were more than happy to see eachother. I was going to say, what a great way to life someone's spirit. It almost sounds like it was meant to be that way, what an angel.

Thank you for helping her find her way.

Great pictures, by the way, I love the close-up shot of her looking straight at you. What gorgeous eyes.
