Visa and I passed our agility screening lastnight!There were 30 people competing for 16 spots. When one lady with her border collie was told she didn't make it, she cried.
There's a boy in my class that I babysat many years ago, so it's kind of neat to catch up and be in the same class as him. And my teachers are friends of mine. We start our first lesson on Sunday, I can't wait!
We actually started our conformation classes on Tuesday. I had a good time learning, but Visa was a pain most of the time. She really dislikes my teacher -- in fact, she's always disliked her. This lady tried to handle her in a show before -- a National Specialty that only comes to this side of Canada every five years -- and this lady had to pull Visa because Visa was freaking out. Visa really can't stand her, which is really too bad. I'm afraid that this will affect our handling classes too much and I'll have to drop out. I'm finding some new ways to calm Visa down though, and some new techniques to direct her attention away from anything that causes her anxiety, so I'm hoping we can work through it. She's getting better.
Oh, and we set a better date for her Herding Instinct Test -- October 17th. I'll let you all know how it goes!
