This handsome boy is in need of a good home, Sammy is about 2 years old. He weighs around 45 pounds. He is a great lover of children. Of course he always enjoys playing with the other rescue dogs until his tongue about drops off! Is is very important that Sammy be adopted to a family with children. One thing about Sammy. He does love to chase the cats. We don't know what he will do with them. But we would advise him not being around any cats. Sammy also thinks it's great to go for walks and take road trips. Notes: Scooter - Male - 6 yrs - Cairn Terrier, Purebred - Wheaton - 28 lbs This guy was surrendered by his owners as they are moving out of state and don't want to take him with. He is very ill behaved. He needs allot of work. He is currently showing dog aggression. Getting his attention is nearly impossible. So we will start working on him. He will go to the petco for training and socialization. Adopters will need to continue training and be firm. Because he has had 6 yrs to cement these behaviors - he will need consistent structure for a long period of time to get him going down the right track. He will not be an easy dog, but he will get better and be a wonderful, valued member of the family with some hard work. We will give him some time to calm down and settle in and will try to update him weekly, letting you know the commands he has learned. He will attend adoption days for socialization. Scooter's adoption fee is $300. No phone calls or emails please as we simply don't have the time to answer them all. Scooter will be at the tigard petco Saturday and Sunday from 11 am to 5 pm until he is adopted - there are no adoption days on holiday weekends. His picture will be removed upon adoption so there will be no question as to if he is still available or not. Scooter is current on shots. 8/8/05 Scooter Update: Scoot is making fabulous progress!!! He is calming down totally, he is minding. Coming when called, sits, off's, leave it's. He is doing fabulous with the other dogs, initiating play. He is a total toy monster. Loves to play with his toys and is totally funny to sit and watch, will keep you laughing for hours. He is still having some trouble learning to be in his crate at night, but he is trying really hard. He would love someone who would let him sleep on a dog bed next to the bed or even let him sleep with his people. He does bark when he wants attention or plays with other dogs, so probably should not be in an apartment. He is coming along just great!!!
