My degu I believe is a girl and does anybody know if they turn fat, and kind of evil if that means they are pregnent??? She is in a cage with 2 boys.

Exactly what is a Degu? Is there another name for them? I know my animals but not familiar with this one. Is it a bird of some kind? Need some more details and maybe able to help. Just confused right now as others may be.

Degu's are rodents right? Which generally means if you keep 2 genders in 1 cage then they'll breed like mad..
So If It has babies then seperate them unless you want hundreds of the things.

If she is in a cage with two boys, she's probably pregnant. Unless you have homes for all of the babies, you need to seperate the boys from the girls! Move the female into her own cage now, because as soon as she gives birth she can breed again.

A degu is a chinchilla/ guinie pig mix. They look like little, skinny, brown chinchillas.

Actually, they look more like Rat/Chin mix's I think. They are too small for a chin and a guinie pig mix. You can hold them in one hand.

They look more like the legs and hands, and body of a chinchilla, with a chipmuck tail, and a rat/squirrel/chinchilla head!!

Here is what a Degu looks like. Their names are Jak, Max and Sammy. Sam is in the purple igloo, Max is by her. And Jak is the one who loves the camera. It is not the full body picture but o well.

Hi, I just recently got two degus...one of wich I think is also pregnent...my reply is probably too late for much help but I hope it might anyway. As for if degus will get large while carring babies, I'm told their bottoms will get big. I'm not sure if my is preg. or if i am just paranode but i think she is getting bigger. I've seen a picture of a preg degu her body looked very round, bubble-ish if you will. umm if she lives with two males it is quite likly that she will have babies within the 3 months time. after this set you may want to consider getting her fixed instead of moving her in a separte cage (where she will become depresed unless you find her a female friend). As for an attitude change i can find very little preg. degu info but im pretty sure they get more "moody". or atleast i'm hoping thats why my degu is acting very strage (hormone changes). if any one has any questions i can try to help although i'm learning about this just as any other new degu owner probably is...
