Mad Cow disease and dog food????

I just happened to be listening to the national news on NBC last night when they were talking about that cow that tested positive for mad cow disease. They were quick to point out that the cow didn't make it into the food chain (human food chain) and that it had been sold to a pet food processer. I don't know how any of you feel about the possibility of my dog or cat being exposed to a diseased animal through their pet food. But I think something this important can't be ignored by those of us who care about the well being of our animals. Aren't there regulations for the processing of pet foods and if not why not!

Yikes! I didn't hear that the cow was sold to a dog food processor! I wonder how we can find out WHAT dog food processor?
