    So educated guesses maybe???

I 'd Like to ask every1 for some help figuring out what is in my old dog, I always thought Rhodie/St.Bernard, I know he is part St. his Sis looked JUST like one, but I am not sure what else, rhodie was the only thing that explained his color.......I really miss him, NOT that I am looking for another, just curious, I had always thought I knew, but with sooo many breeds and a head like that, not sure I was right..........LMK Cassie
here he is with me, my big beautiful boy, he grew 7 inches taller than that, he was only around 8/9months there.,.....if that old

thanks, I miss him soo much, he new sit, stay, come, heel, and fetch, only two weeks after i had gotten him, he was still a puppy, only the size of a sheltie then, lol, he was my boy, but unfortunately, we were forced to find him a loving home, thanks for your input! Hope someone can give a good guess, I am just sooooo curious to know, an dhis owners were uneducated , all they knew was the mother was a St. Bernard(theirs) and they had these puppies in a trunk at a public, large yard sale, said that at 1:00 PM if any were left, they were going to the pound, two males, one female. The other two looked more like pure St. Bernards, BUT, I knew that this guy wouldn't get adopted as fast, he was smaller, and his color was dull from improper nutrition, so I took this guy(after some great coaxing and pleading with my mom). They said lab, but the color is all wrong, they only said that, where I used to live and got him, was deep in the sticks, and they are very uneducated on dogs, proper care and such, so I was never quite sure, thanks again! Cassie
Maybe he could have golden, but the black muzzle, and when he was younger he had black legs, then they grew out to dark brown, like some colts do. Also his white patch on the chest, but golden was a good guess, definately a good idea sinc he has that color, but his hair (most likely) would have been longer, goldens and st.bernards have long hair then he ever had.....thanks again!

there are also some shorthaired saints, that would explain the lenght of your dogs hair, but im intriged with the blasck legs, the muzzle could be also saint colored, but the type of expression is golden like

Yup, my first guess was Golden as well. His hair is actually longer, more Golden-like, than our St. Bernard's hair was, and the dark muzzle could very much be Saintly, too!

Sure looks like a Rhodie to me.

i would say golden mix. she/he??? has the charateristics of one. she is pretty good size too...big build. pretty dog. i love mutts too. best dog i ever had was a small mutt. She was poodle/cocker/pomeranian mix. Her mom looked like a cocker poo...she didn't look anything like her but sure had her personality. Best friend anyone could ask for. followed me every step i took and then some. Darn fine watch dog and a good judge of character. if she didn't like you...watch out...no, she wasn't mean but she wouldn't let you anywhere near me then. And usually she was right.

awww, thanks, boy thinking about him makes me miss him sooo much......Always a happy wagging tail and smile to greet, no matter the circumstances. He was loyal, I know he would surely gone to bat for me, not that I would ever risk him doing so....Thanks everyone!

Many Goldens are born shorthaired. I definitely see the expression of a Golden Retriever in him! Perhaps his parents passed on the shorthaired gene. Other than that, I keep seeing Bullmastiff for some reason. It's that rusty color and midnight black lips...
