Thread: What makes you happy?

    What makes you happy?

What makes you happy? I am feeling really down lately. I know I have many things to be happy about but I can't bring myself to really be happy about them.

I am 22 and I feel like I am an old lady. I have no energy and it takes a lot out of me to get going every day. I have tried meds and I really prefer to do things naturally.

What makes you get up and face each day?

I am so sorry you're feeling this way
    My furbabies and my family make a reason for me to get up each morning. Do you have any furbabies? I know they make most of us on here happy! {{{hugs}}}

I'm sorry to hear you feel so down.. maybe you could try taking up some sort of hobby that could keep you going during the day?

Mickey is undoubtely one of the reasons why I'll wake up every morning, then there's my friends and family, and then the small stuff, like going for walks and being with nature, photography, writing, reading ect. Even something like eating chocolate chip cookies (my usual breakfast, lol) will get me out of bed.

    - volunteering at the shelter

    - bubble baths
    - comfort food
    - reconnecting with old friends I lost contact with
    - browsing at the bookstore

    - exercising
    - reality TV, hehe

When I feel down, I really feel better by helping others (animals or people). It makes me feel good to see how I can help others. It also makes me realize that my problems aren't as bad as lots of other people's problems. Mostly I volunteer with animals though. And that is just a reward in itself.

I also like to end my day with a hot bubble bath and some cold ice cream... AHH!

I usually have something to do and cant sleep in. But exercise is a great way to start out the day. It sucks having get up and go work out or something but you feel good afterwards. It's true, exercise really makes people happy. But I have my pets and they keep me going, along with my friends and family. I hope you feel better, and are happy. Just to let you know, if you ever want to talk I'd be more than happy to be there to listen.

Thank you for the replies. I guess I am going through the 20s crisis. Hehe. Anyway, I am not sure why I feel so down. I do have a kitten. Her name is Star. She does do things make me laugh, but I think my sadness is deeper than that. Maybe I will feel better tomorrow.

    Hi Annie,

I just wanted to let you know that I am thinking about you. I know that it is not fun to feel so blue. Others have offered some good advice. Just be strong, hang in there and I'm sure that deep sadness will pass soon.
