You know you live in New England when...

There have been so many sad news here lately that I thought this post will bring a smile to the ones of you who can identify with the message.
By the way, it's 50 degrees, with rain and wind today.

YOU KNOW YOU ARE A NEW ENGLANDER WHEN:
    >
"Vacation" means going anywhere south of New York City for the weekend.
    >
    You measure distance in hours.

    > You know several people who have hit a deer more than once.

    > You have switched from "heat" to "A/C" in the same day, and back again.

    > You can drive 65 mph through 2 feet of snow during a raging blizzard
    without flinching.

    > You install security lights on your house and garage, but leave both
    unlocked.

    > You carry jumper cables in your car and your girlfriend/wife knows how to
    use them.

    > You design your kid's Halloween costume to fit over a snowsuit.

    > Driving is better in the winter because the potholes are filled with snow.

    > You know all 4 seasons: almost winter, winter, still winter, and road
    construction.

    > Your idea of creative landscaping is a statue of a deer next to your blue
    spruce.

    > "Down South" to you means Philadelphia.

    > Your neighbor throws a party to celebrate his new shed.

    > Your 4th of July picnic was moved indoors due to frost.

    > You have more miles on your snow blower than your car.

    > You find 10 degrees "a little chilly."

LOL! These are cute. Of course with global warming you don't get so much frost on the 4th of July.

Albea, are you sure you're talking about New England or Pittsburgh?! Quite a few of those apply here, too. Especially construction season, and I have hit a deer!

I was going to say a lot of those sound like Iowa too.

The construction one hit me first thing. Our whole town is torn up by road construction. You can't get there from here or can't get here from there!?!

You know you live in New England

My son went to college in Rhode Island. Just before statriong his freshman year, we went up for family orientation. One of the parents asked about the weather and what kind of clothing the kids should bring. The administrator simply said, "If you don't like the weather in New England, wait five minutes"

There's something else you should know if you come this way. If you get lost the saying goes: "If you don't know where you are, you shouldn't be there."
    However, I love New England.
