    Tomorrow is the day!

    Time to go back to work.. I leave in the wee hours of the morning. I took my Girls to Kevlins Sunday and I cried all morning before we left here. It just gets harder and harder to part with them when it is time to go back.

    Chester has been totally lost without his "girls" around and clinging to me like glue. Today I have a lot to do so he will go to Rie-Rie's sometime today...

    This is yesterday. I finally got a new laptop and I had it on the counter getting everything installed on it and he wanted to see what I was doing and just hanging close by me as he had all day. Last night I was on the sofa with it and had HIM and the laptop IN my lap...him, by far, being the heaviest!

    So, someone keep notes for me while I am gone as to what I have missed. Take care of all your babies and love them every day for me. I will be back in 29 days from today.

    Oh no Laura not again already!!! Why is that your time gone seems so long but your time home seems so brief?
    We sure do miss you when your gone. Your posts and stories are always so much fun to read. Not to mention all your wonderful pictures and cards you make.
    Please be careful and we will be anxiously awaiting your return. It's always such a happy day when you come back!

    Laura works on a tug boat crew on the Mighty Mississippi. She works 30 days on then 30 days off. I really like the 30 days off idea.... So we have her here for a very short 30 days, then we have to wait an eternity of another 30 days until she's back again - like CCL says.

    Laura ~ We'll miss you. It seems like you just got home.

    Have you ever investigated one of those palm pilot/blackberry things to take on the Mighty Miss with you? I bet they have wireless internet access up and down the river.

    Understand that I don't know anything about this stuff, but when we were down for my mother-in-laws funeral, a lot of the relatives were using theirs to check their work e-mail and respond while we were bombing down the highway. Might be something to ask your co-workers about. I know you're probably pooped at the end of the day from cooking for everyone, but one of these gizmo's would help you keep in touch.

    Kim, this laptop has the wireless internet built in so I will be checking that out on the highway tomorrow on the way to Memphis (where we get on I think) and this one has a battery with long life so I will be able to take it outside on the boats as we go through towns and hopefully can pick up a hot spot or two on the river. (my old laptop is 5+ years old and the battery was GONE in it) If I am lucky, I will be able to make a post from the road tomorrow somewhere...*keep fingers crossed*

    Kuhio, I was needing a new laptop to bad to look into any other things for internet access out there. I am hoping this one will work for me in the bigger cities.

    sarifish, I am a cook on a tow boat on the Mississippi River, been doing that for about 10 years now.. The hardest part is leaving my babies! . I miss them SOOoo bad when I am gone that at times it HURTS!!
