It is so hard to say goodbye to this handsome boy who has been with us for so long. He was always an inspiration to me. He loved his mommy to pieces and fought with the heart of a lion. God bless you, dear Killian. May you know the fullest of restored health and energy and a good appetite. We know that you will stand proudly by the Rainbow Bridge as one of his most dignified centuries.

Dear Sue.... how hard it is too lose such a loved part of our life. Sharing these pictures is a wonderful way to help the healing. We all loved Killian so much. He was a part of our lives through your generosity to share him with us. Seeing Shiloh alone brought tears too my eyes.

Thank you so much for sharing Killians pictures with us, Sue. It really warmed my heart to see him. I know how hard it must have been to do this.

Thank you all for your kind words.

I believe I got my sign from Killian:
Last night I dreamt that he was standing out in a field...standing....and looking younger. I heard myself say..Oh look, Killian is standing!!! He is ok! He is well! He looked at me with that "happy face" of his. I hope that this was my sign. I didn't dream anything else last night nor do I normally remember any of my dreams, but this one was fresh in my memory.

Goodbye, my boy.....run off and play again.....I will see you in heaven.
    Love,
    Sue

Yep, Sue, I totally believe your dream was a sign from Killi. The night before I adopted Logan, I had a vivid dream of Cody with my dad, both happy and smiling and well. The next day, I awoke, grabbed my mom and off to the SPCA we went. I KNEW that was THE day, no doubt. And also, when we first met, I asked you about GSDs as my mom was raised with them and always loved them...and look who found me..the sweetest little GSD mix.. and you gave me tons of wonderful advise, remember? Yes, for sure, you are being guided and watched and forever loved by Killi. Your photos are a loving, beautiful tribute to a brave, handsome, loving boy. Extra kisses to beautiful Shiloh too, forever Killi's best friend and guardian. Thank you Sue for sharing your wonderful pictures! {Hugs} Karen and Logan

He was a very beautiful soul. I wish the pics were bigger! Can hardly see him. I know it must have been hard to look at them but aren't you glad you have them? I'm sure you'll cherish them always.

I did the right thing by setting you free
But the pain is very deep.
If only I could turn back time, forever, you I'd keep.
    I miss you

I hear you whimper in your sleep
I gently pet you and say, no bad dreams
It will be alright, to my dog as dark as night.

Fur as dark as the night.
    Join me on this flight.
Paws of love that follow me.
In my heart you'll forever be.

How I wish I could hold you near.
Turn back time to make it so.
Hug you close and never let go.

He really was a beautiful soul, a remarkable dog. It was so hard to stop his heart when his body was just a shell. It makes me cry whenever I think of it (multiple times daily). I say I am ok, but lately it seems a bit harder.
I don't know how to make them bigger. I wish I did.
I am glad I have his last days pics. We knew that his time was coming and my husband took many pictures in his last months. I just wish it didn't happen the way it did....but in a way, it was easier being that he couldn't look at me with his loving eyes....he was in a coma.......not really there anymore. I would not have been able to free him if he still had life in his eyes.

Again, thank you all for your kind words.
