6 Month Old German Shepard needs PT help...

I spoke to a very close family friend tonight and he told me someone had given him a 6 month old German Shepard they "no longer wanted"
My friend cannot find anyone to take this dog, so I told him I would post it here in hopes some of you semi-local and local people knew of anyone interested in this little pup or you yourselves might want it.
I know this should be in "Dog Rescue" but I thought I might get a faster response here, as he can only keep the pup for a little while longer, then he's not sure what he's going to do with it.
    Any ideas guys?

I know GSD rescues are probably full to their limit, but they're there to help, so...

    Regional Contacts:

And there should be a load of GSD breed rescues.

    Hope that suffices for now!

Edited to add: I typed in New Hampshire GSD Rescue and got this

I'd suggest petfinder as well. A couple of years ago a co-worker of mine had to find a home for her dog and it acutally only took a few days for me to find him a good home.

    Good Luck!

Where in New Hampshire are you? I'm in Mass. and deal with a few different shelters, and foster homes. As of now, the shelter I bring most of my kitty rescues to is unable to take on dogs, but there are a few people who are willing to foster, and or adopt. I'll put out some 'feelers' before Cindy takes off for vacation, as she knows of one man who is looking to foster a mid-sized breed, and he's also a trainer. If I can get his phone #, it may be easier to get his permission to link you up directly to avoid confusion. PM me.....Jan

Is the puppy male or female? Black & tan... Sable...??
    Neutered/Spayed? Housetrained?

Petfinder, you can find all sorts of rescues in your area, you search by state so you can find a bunch of them. You can post an ad on Petfinder also, but be 100% sure any person that anwsers the ad is checked out, vet check, home check...etc.

I found both of my GSD's on Petfinder, and I have placed several dogs in wonderful homes using Petfinder!

I'm not sure of the gender or any other information except I know the pup has some pretty good training, I will be calling my friend tonight and I may just go pic the little pup up and bring him here so I can take some pictures and see what its like. Hopefully I can get he/she into a foster home or something.... I'm more than willing to travel up to 2 hours to find he/she a happy home.

I just saw my friend, its a male and he is not neutered. He also told me that if we couldn't find a home for it his father said he was going to shoot it! I am going to call him in a little while and I might go pick the little guy up and bring him here.

Please go get the puppy before anything awful happens to him!!! I'm trying to reach people who have potential homes or at least fostering for the pup here. I'm 99% certain a home can be found near me!
