Jethro is young adult mutt--no idea what all is mixed up in him, but around here it's safe to assume there is husky somewhere! He's solid black and has big loud bark! For months he has sat in our local shelter with no interest. He's a nice boy, but his bark freaks potential adopters out. He's not a sled dog, but rather needs to be an active family's pet.
This is is his shelter website pic:
Yesterday, one of my co-workers asked if she could "borrow" one of my dogs. Her husband is going away for two weeks and she's afraid to be home alone. Well, I turned down that request, but made a quick call to my husband, the shelter administrator, to see if he had any ideas for her. He immediately asked "will she foster Jethro short-term?" Even two weeks out of the shelter will be a wonderful break for him. I described him to Rosanna, my co-worker. She's thrilled and is going down today at 3pm to pick him up.
Right now she's saying it's just til her husband comes home, but she's a softie. Rosanna has previously adopted one of my foster dogs--a senior shepherd cross who was abandoned at 10 years old by his family, left in the backyard when they moved away! Blackie's health failed him a couple months ago and he had to cross the bridge. She also recently adopted a shelter kitty. We have all paws crossed that she will fall in love and Jethro will finally have his forever home.
