    Horse Treat Recipe

There is a horse treat recipe site that I reffer (sp?) to all the time. (http://www.qtm.net/~mitchj/recipes.html)

You can also send in your own recipes, if you make up your own.

I created one today, and I just sent it in.

Here is the recipe, Merlin loves it!:

    Merlin's Easter Apple Surprise

    Ingredients and Supplies:
    One small bowl
    One medium or large apple
    1 teaspoon of honey
    1/2 cup of mollasses
    1/2 a banana
    1 tablespoon of brown sugar

    Directions:
Get out a small bowl, a paper plate, and a medium or large apple. Hollow out the apple , with NO hole on the bottom. Next, take 1/2 cup of mollasses and pour it into your bowl. Take 1 teaspoon of honey and put it into your bowl with the mollasses. Do the same with 1/2 a banana (cut up into small pieces), and 1 tablespoon of brown sugar. If you like, you can also throw in the "apple shavings" from when you hollowed out the apple. Next, mix all the ingredients together with a spoon. Scoop it up with a spoon or pour it (doesn't matter which), into the hollow apple and drizzle over the finished product with honey and mollasses. Cover it tightly with seran wrap on a paper plate so that it doesn't fall over while you bring it to the barn. It may be messy, but it's fun and easy to make, (no cooking or heating required), and your horse will love it!

okay, and make sure to refridgerate it overnight, and it would probably be best fed in a bucket because it's quite messy! ^_~

I did that over the summer at the stable, we added chopped up carrots and grain, too. All the horses loved it! But it was kind of messy...I'll have to make it again for the horses, all the school horses love getting treats.
