Thread: Gas Prices . . .

  1. #31
It's $2.04 a gallon here. It costs around $30.00 to fill up my Toyota Camry and over $50.00 to fill up my husband's Ford Expedition. At least my Camry gets pretty good gas mileage, but that Expedition is quite a gas guzzler!

Gas is 85.9cents/litre here which is:
    $2.71USD/gallon.

Of course almost every gas station offers 3cents off /litre so the real price is 82.9cents/litre.
    Which is:

    $2.62/gallon.

I think. I could be completely wrong as I've forgotten everything I ever learned in math class since I was last in school. LOL

All I do know is that we pay more than you do.....

After decades with no coherent energy policies from anyone in Washington the gas price is GWB's fault?

There are many, many factors which drive up the price of gasoline, some of which have nothing to do with Washington.

My tank was still half full but I decided to fill it up before the prices jumped even higher. I found a place for $2.19/gallon for regular and thats the cheapest I've seen around me. Most are around $2.27 or higher. I know they're going to keep going up. I heard it could reach $3.00/gallon.

I filled up on Sunday at $2.15 a gallon. $26 to fill my tank.

It was $2.25 around the Lansing, MI area just before and during the weekend.

In various areas of Detroit the prices were $2.07, $2.13, $2.17, and $2.23.

MI Lawmakers are considering passing a bill that will eliminate the 6% gas tax if prices go over $2.30.

Obviously the prices have risen yet again due to the explosion of the refinery in Texas City, TX.

We finally hit the $2.00 mark this past week or so in the North Dallas, TX area. I saw it was $2.01 for regular unleaded today.

My husband and I both drive Toyota's and must fill our tanks weekly.
I based my buying decision on my vehicle for it's good gas mileage. I get approx. 30-32 mpg, but I still must fill my tank once per week because of my daily commute for work.
We are on a tight budget and approx $200 of our monthly income goes toward fuel for our cars. Carpooling is not an option for us because we work in different towns and have slightly different work hours.

If I could have afforded a Toyota Prius (and if they weren't backorded for 6months!) I would have bought one.
    At approx 50mpg.....it's amazing!

The idea of driving a huge vehicle which gets 10-20mpg is not for me. It's not just the gas prices, but our natural resources I'm worried about.

This morning it was 98.9 cents/litre but tonight it's come down to 92.9. Don't have a clue what that means in "ammerrrrican" language.

LOLOLOL, Trev. This morning I was actually thinking that maybe I should sell my SUV and get a smaller car....but then, I came to my senses. A grey-haired chick in a red SUV is a "stud magnet" especially with a couple of hot 18th year-olds in the car with me.

I've seen more hybrids on the road because of the sustained rise in gas prices. Personally, I think the best thing in the long run would be for oil to go high and stay high; we had made real progress in the US in energy reform in 1980; then the oil glut caused the bottom to fall out.

Heating oil suppliers are offering biodiesel (same as #2) for heating oil. Mine doesn't yet; I may switch to one that does. Still costs the same, but it's from renewable sources.

There's a guy in our area who fills his diesel truck with filtered used oil from MacDonalds! This stuff is usually costly to dispose of; this guy gets PAID to put it in his truck. Some racket, huh?

Gosh, gas prices are just too high for me! I'm not sure I'll be able to afford to drive into work everyday when I'm filling up at the pump 2 (sometimes more) times per week at $35 each time!!

The gas prices are still hanging at around $2.60 (it fluctuates up and down from that price during the day) for the cheap stuff...

I'm seriously considering taking the train, because this is just getting rediculous!

Up to $2.65/Gallon for self-serve unleaded today here in Burlingame, CA. OUCH! I remember paying 24.9ยข a gallon back in 1969 - and we didn't have self-serve back then; that was the "full service" price! Tells you how old I really am!

At least my new car is now broken in enough so the mileage is up to 30 mpg.
