Yesterday was the Bahrain SPCAĆ” annual fundraiser Dog Walk. It was a 4 km sponsored walk in the desert here in Bahrain, and we raised (last count) around $8000 towards the new shelter we hope to complete this year. There were around 70 dogs, of all shapes and sizes!

As I don't have any dogs in Bahrain (my two, Sally and Spike, live with my MIL in South Africa) we "hired" two dogs from the shelter for the day.

Thought you might like to see some pics!

This is GAVIN, the shelter dog I walked. He has been in the shelter since he was a puppy and is now around 18 months old. He was so excited to get out on the leash, and pulled me along for the first KM, then he settled down a bit!

Me and Gavin:

My son (Cameron) with his friend Tristan and GAVIN and SAMSON, two shelter dogs:

Tristan brought his little dog DUMPY along too - can you believe those short little legs managed 4 KM ???

Staying cool in the sun!!

By the end, Gavin was SO HOT he climbed into one of the drinking tubs!
