    Kayleigh's day out...

Kayleigh got to go for a big hike yesterday. It was a perfect day to take her out. It can be difficult to exercise Kayleigh enough as she is highly dog aggressive, but it was highly unlikely that we would run into anyone way back on the trail on a Monday afternoon.

This is where we went. It's the very end of the driveable trail.

Kayleigh heading down the trail beside a wall of snow!

"I came back when you called me, where's my treat?"

Kayleigh loves deep snow. She will never take a trail if she can make her own first!

Almost out of the deep snow and on to a snowmobile track.

Made it back to the truck! Happy, Happy, Kayleigh.

No, that's Chase. Kayleigh isn't part of the sled team. She's too aggressive to other dogs. She could run alone, but it's too risky if we run into another team or a loose dog. I skijor with her occasionally and she's a great trail breaker for the team!

Kayleigh is beautiful!!! She looks like she had a fun day out.

Glacier, you have no idea how much I enjoy your pictures. I'm always saving some to my favorites folder and I think I might just have to start one called "Glacier's Dogs"!

Seems funny that Iceland is having spring! LOL!! We will have enough snow to run the dogs likely until early to mid April.

The snow won't start melting until late March. The lakes don't unthaw until late May. We get a beautiful summer--3 months of 24 hours of daylight, moderate temps (20-25C usually). The only problem with our summers are the big ol' mosquitos and the forest fires!

What a beautiful and happy dog! She really looks like she enjoys life. I love the way her toes are all spread out. Duke does that in the sand at the beach, too.

I did the right thing by setting you free
But the pain is very deep.
If only I could turn back time, forever, you I'd keep.
    I miss you

I hear you whimper in your sleep
I gently pet you and say, no bad dreams
It will be alright, to my dog as dark as night.

Fur as dark as the night.
    Join me on this flight.
Paws of love that follow me.
In my heart you'll forever be.

How I wish I could hold you near.
Turn back time to make it so.
Hug you close and never let go.
