    Happy Sled dogs...

The dogs will be glad when I go back to work. The flashy thing won't be in their faces all the time!

Founder is learning to lead. Pingo is trying to teach him. He's pretty much a trail dog. He does really well on trails he knows, but he gets confuzzled by commands to take new directions. He's just learning though so it will come in time.

I think he likes leading though!

Hobo licking his lips after finishing his trail snack. Hobo usually has to run alone as he's a wacko! He tends to get over excited about going for a run and he will bite the dog beside him. He has to do something with his energy.

The back half of yesterday's team--Pacer, Antare, Franklin and Chase. All former shelter dogs.

Franklin after a 15km run. He's barely winded! He'd run all day if he could.

These are all from yesterday afternoon. I took a bunch more today and will upload them later. Gotta go back outside and play with furries some more! I could get used to this not working thing!

Your dogs look so happy to go sledding. They sure are pretty ones! Are all of your dogs rescues?

All but 2 of them are rescues. Muskwa came from a breeder and I've had Earle since he was 7 weeks old. The other 19 are rescues. 14 former shelter dogs, 5 who found their way here without a shelter stop.

Looks great fun . Think there will be enough for the idtiarod? The updates in a couple trail areas sound like it could be a little dangerous this year. (I mean more than normal)
I'm going to have to plan a trip to visit you and get a ride from those beauties of yours.

They get all of April (or a month from whenever the snow melts)off to do nothing at all! They get lots of off-leash time in the summer. I have a bike attatchment for them as well. They go hiking and swimming lots. In August they start training on the ATV. Until it gets cold, I help them with the motor running, once it cools off they pull it on their own.

Not sure about the I-rod trail conditions. The Quest has been great. I've heard that parts of the iditarod trail are snowed under in a big way and that there is some extra concern about the stability of the sea ice this year.
