Hiking the trails at the dog park (pics)

We woke up to a beautiful sunny day and about 2 inches of fresh fallen snow. That all added up to a trip to the dog park and a two hour hike! Both Dixie and Dusty were still raring to go when we were done but Dad, AJ and me were all done in.

Here's a link to the entire album. Dog Park Hike

Here are a few of my favorites!

    Dusty flying over a log.

Dixie flying over the same log.

    Dixie taking a short break

They thought they smelled something in the brush.

A waterfall in the park. I thought it was neat with the snow around it.

Great pictures! I can never get any good pics of Kia running at me in the snow. She either wants to chase me or me chase her! Which leads to more butt shots. LOL!

Great pictures! You can see how happy Dusty and Dixie are. Beautiful dogs and beautiful scenery!

I don't even have a dog park near me no less one as nice as that - there's room to hike within the dog park? There's a temporary park near me that is mostly asphalt and I worry too much about Sadie's old joints to take her there.

We are very fortunate to have a great dog park in our area. It is 2500 acres of fields and woods so there is plenty of room for everyone. Sometimes we hike the trails or sometimes we go to the big field to play with all the other dogs.

A lot of rich people in the area came up with the idea that if they made their property a park, they wouldn't have to pay taxes. In order to qualify for a park, they had to have so many people come every year. There were not enough people who rode horses to qualify so they opened it up as an off leash dog park. The place always has a crowd now. Of course there is one problem with it, we have to share it with horses and they don't clean up after themselves very well. They stay out of the fields and some of the hiking trails though so it's not that bad.
