What should I name my horse?

hi everyone! I just bought a new horse. She is a 3 year old palomino mare, and absolutly gorgeous. The problem is, she doesn't have a name. If you have any ideas, please post them here. thanx

Can you post a picture of her? What is her personality like? OK, I'm thinking and will get back to you! I've never had a horse myself. But I adore them! Such graceful, beautiful animals. A pic. or description of her looks and personality would help! Congratulations to you! How exciting!!

I have a friend whose horse is named Zephyr, as in "the wind." I also love

    Blaze
    Dancer
    Star
    Fallon

I've found that often a horse's name has some connection with it's parentage, breeder etc. Please tell us more!

Ummm...here's the name of my grandpa's mares.

    Millie (meaning wild and crazy)
    Derby's Cocoa (Cocoa)
    Stanz Ann (Ann)
    Dancer

Hmmm...for a palomino, oh if it was a stallion or gelding you could call it Pal (short for PALomino). I don't know. There have been a lot of really good suggestions so far. I like the name Dancer and Dollar (I used to know a palomino gelding named Dollar, sweetest horse in the world). Well, I'm not sure of a good name but good luck! Let us know how it turns out!

Unfortunatly, it is impossible for me to post a pic at the moment, sry everyone! but whenever I can, I will. "horse" is very calm and easy-going about alot of things, which is very good for a baby (shes only 3) But, shes in training and she is very stubborn and likes to try and push the trainer around (I find it funny). I get to ride her for the first time tomorrow Havn't thought of a name yet.

Since palaminos are golden with light main & tails, how about GoldieLox (sp?) or Shimmer (since they shimmer in the sunshine) or Penny since palaminos shine like a penny. Or "Poppy", since they have varying shades of orangish hair and poppy flowers are beautiful and orange.

The ride was great, she spooked once but it was because of a tractor and that is normal for a horse so young. She responds to me very well, and is very comfortable to ride.I think her show name is going to be "Dixie Gold Dust" I was going to name her Dixie, but it doesn't seem right for her. My mom wants to name her "Maggie" after a friend of ours because they both have blonde hair, and the human maggie is known for being stubborn and very outspoken. No matter what I name her, my mom will probably call her Maggie all the time anyways.
