    My favorite part of Thanksgiving...

I hope that everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving. Mine was great. We had to leave a day early and it took us 8 hours instead of 3 hours to get home because of a storm.

Anyways, we had a little incident that I can't quit laughing over. I just thought I'd share it. My husband's uncle is normally a real jerk. But for whatever reason, he was really nice to me this time. He asked me if I wanted to go to the casino for an hour or so. He was really drunk, so I declined. He left without a jacket and said he'd be back in two hours. This was at 5pm.

We were up late and still hadn't heard from him. We were mad but not concerned. We figured he was drunk and he'd come home soon and we went to bed. We woke up the next morning, and he still wasn't there. We were on the phone all day with hospitals, jails, hotels, and casinos trying to find him. He wasn't answering his cell phone. We were very stressed and it ruined our day. (Actually not my day, I'm a fairly optimistic person, I figured he was ok.) But we kept telling ourselves that he probably got so drunk that he just got a hotel and passed out. Well, by 4pm, we decided that if he was sleeping off his alcohol somewhere, we would have woken up by then. So, we went out in the storm (which had some drama in itself) and went to the casino he said he'd be at.

Lo and behold, when we found him at the first try. He was at the casino he said he would be at playing Black Jack just like he said he would. He looked like hell. He was a very very drunk, tired, hungry, and poor man by then. But that was the least of his worries. He was in soooo much trouble. He'd missed all of our planned family meals and events.

But the part that cracked me up was when we picked him up, he was all smiles. He was so happy and slurring away. He had no idea he was in trouble. He was like "Hi, guys! You finally decided to join me! Boy, I lost so much money tonight."

His wife said "When did you finally decide to stop drinking?!" And he smiles and slurs "Oh, honey, I never quit. I just switched to red bull and vodka." And then she goes "How much did you lose?!" And he goes "I don't know, they only let me take $2000 out of our bank, so I had to use our credit card to get cash. I guess we'll find out when we get our statement....haha...haha, I bet it's alot." Then he rubbed his tummy and goes "Boy, am I glad that you guys came, I am hungry! Did you remember my jacket?" His wife was all "$#@@ your jacket! $@@# eating, you #%%$#@&!" He goes "Awww, sweetie, why are you blowing things out of proportion?" "...I didn't want to call you guys because I didn't want you to drive in the snow. You knew where I was." Then, we walk outside and he goes "OMG, it's storming! How long has it been snowing for?!" (There had been no snow on the ground when he originally went to the casino.) So, she started yelling again "You see, you didn't even know it was snowing outside! So how is it you didn't call us because you didn't want us to drive in the snow?!" He was all "Hehe, I guess you caught me...Awww, honey, I was winning, I swear."

I was sitting in the car trying so hard not to laugh. He kept rolling down the window and grabbing snow off the car and throwing it at pedestrians all the way home. I wasn't directly affected, so I found it hilarious. But if my husband did that...he would be dead!

I'm with you, Tonya. If it were my husband, his @$$ would be grass. But since it isn't, I'm laughing along with you!
