If a dog was the teacher.......

If a dog was the teacher you would learn stuff like:
    >When loved ones come home, always run to greet them.
    >
    >Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joyride.
    >
    >Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure
    >ecstasy.
    >When it's in your best interest, practice obedience
    >
    >Let others know when they've invaded your territory .
    >
    >Take naps.
    >
    >Stretch before rising.
    >Run, romp, and play daily.
    >
    >Thrive on attention and let people touch you.
    >
    >Avoid biting when a simple growl will do.
    >
    >On warm days, stop to lie on your back on the grass.
    >
    >On hot days, drink lots of water and lie under a shady tree.
    >
    >When you're happy, dance around and wag your entire body.
    >
    >No matter how often you're scolded, don't buy into the guilt thing and
    >pout...run right back and make friends.
    >
    >Delight in the simple joy of a long walk.
    >
    >Eat with gusto and enthusiasm. Stop when you have had enough.
    >
    >Be Loyal. Never pretend to be something you're not.
    >
    >If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it.
    >
    >When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by and nuzzle them
    >gently.
    >

Thank You, kittycats_delight for my new siggy!!!

I got that in an e-mail from my cousin once. Dogs can be great teachers!

    Dogs are awsome...

    I like these two.

If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it.

When you're happy, dance around and wag your entire body.

I was taught a lot by my Sheba dog, the very first dog in my life. She was even the one who taught me to look both ways before crossing the street! (She had been rolled by a truck once. For weeks her footsteps went "Click Click Click THUMP" and never again did she cross without looking.

oh thats so cute! I like that a lot! Do they have one about a cat? Now that would also be a very interesting one. I found that my cat has a lot of dog qualities too.

Well I could go on and on but I'd have to post in cat general! lol
    hehehe!

    Nice thread!

Thanks Willie, these are so true and I enjoyed them all. These two I think really speak to me the most.

No matter how often you're scolded, don't buy into the guilt thing and pout...run right back and make friends.I don't know many humans, if any, including myself, who can easily do this but dogs don't think twice. They must realize life is too short to wallow in self-pity.

When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by and nuzzle them gently. That one sentence pretty much sums up a dog in one sentence. That nuzzle is their way of saying "everything is gonna be alright." They are certainly our best friends in the good times and a source of comfort in the bad times.
