Max is in sir jury today....

He's being pawing at his mouth for a couple of days and when I tried to examine him I almost lost a couple of fingers. The past 2 days his appetite has deminished dramatically so I took him in this morning.

He has a big ulcer way back on the inside of his cheek that looks like a canker sore. Not only that but his gums near it are inflamed. So I'll pick him up tonight, poor guy. Fortunately I have a really nice vet and he is letting me pay 50% now and 50% next payday.

So many people and pets to pray for these days.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!

Oh poor Max! No wonder he didn't want to eat. I hope the vet can fix him, so he'll be happy and healthy again!

Sending gentle scritchies, kisses and positive thoughts for Max!

    Hugs to you!

Well, Max is home now and talk about velcro kitty!!!!
I'm not supposed to give him food or water tonight but he's begging for it. He's following me everywhere and meowing and meowing and his poor back end keep keeling over. Sorry, but I just have to . It's too funny to watch. I notice also that his eyes are really dilated. Is this normal??

He has to have liquid Clavamox twice a day for 7 days so I think that should be fine.

Am going to feed Speckles in another room so Max doesn't get at it. He's still pawing at his mouth but I guess that's to be expected for the next couple of days.

Is the Poor Kid *Blinking* his eyes??

    Whenever Boots, da Kat, has been sedated;
Doc always sends home a tube of Gooey Stuff
that I have to apply to his EYES till he begins to *Blink*
on his own. The Goop is to lubricate the eyes, which
can dry out while the cat isn't *Blinking* on his own.

As for the Pawing at his mouth ~

Did Doc not suggest an E-Collar to prevent that?

Phred, his eyes are just fine. No winkin' or blinkin' but now at 10pm he's entering the land of nod.

All evening long he followed me around and begged for food like he hadn't eaten for a week. So me, the weak one, offered him up some "speshal" wet Fancy Feast; only a wee bit mind you. He wolfed it down and literally cried for more, but I waited an hour to see if it would stay down. Low and behold, he was fine so I gave him a little bit more and he has not pawed at his mouth since. I think I'll leave it for now. No e-collar is needed. Meds start tomorrow morning.
