My MooShoo is blind. Thanks to his WONDERFUL breeder (NOT!!!) he became blind because she failed to treat a herpes virus in his eyes, causing scar tissue to form on his corneas.

I took him to an eye specialist after Moo had 3 surgeries to remove some of the scar tissue. The specialist said that anymore fiddling with his eyes could cause the herpes virus to return as it is triggered by stress.

So Moo, who has a wonderful sense of smell and personality to match, is also blind. These babies deserve to learn to live with their "limitations". I know they'll make someone very happy pets.

    Keep up the good work!

Maya Linn, my heart is broken. The day your beautiful blue eyes went blind was the worst day of my life.I only wish I could've done something.I'll miss your "premium" purr and our little "conversations". 1997-2013 See you again "ONE FINE DAY"

Lisa, no you did not read too much into the post.

I PM Jan and told of her my situation right now and that I can not guarantee anything....but these 2 have just got my heart wrapped around their little paws. If all works out on my end and the kittens come back with a good bill of health then yes I'm thinking of taking them in....but I'm not promising anything yet.

Ok, I gotcha. Thank you for at least considering it. Sometimes other issues can cause problems so we all understand. Good Luck and I hope everything turns out the way you want it to be. Prayers on the way that it works out for the best.
I would so love to know that they can come live with you. That would be so nice for Magoo to have PT buddies!

These kitties are lovely and I am amazed at all of the things I have learned on this forum - about giving chances to these animals that would normally be deemed "unadoptable". I have never known that such loving folks existed and it does my heart good. DONNA! I never knew Moo was blind! Have you ever mentioned this?? I had no idea!! Bless you ALL.

Yippee!!! That would be so wonderful Meg!!! I know sometimes these things don't work out, but I, for one, will be hoping, praying, crossing fingers, toes, paws and tails and doing whatever else we can to help get this little sweeties to your home!

Wow talk about team work! It would be wonderful if Meg and her husband adopt this precious pair, but no pressure of course. We all know how very hard it is to place adoptable cats, and how hard it will be for these wee ones to find a forever loving home One day at a time everyone right? I think one is able to see shadows at least. He/she senses my approach, and sniffs the air. Little cuties all six (that includes the sweet and lovely mama).

I have been reading about these two little angels and who wouldn't be blessed to have them in their home?? Special needs (?) kitties are even more special and sure do leave BIG imprints all over your heart! These two have grabbed mine for sure!!!

Special Needs Pets just leave bigger imprints on your heart!

Hi, I am a blind cat rescue & sanctuary if you need to place them in a forever home, I am available.

When my little Louie was a small kitten, the vet said the same thing to me... put him down he won't have quality of life. You tell that to him as he climbs trees, chases birds and climbs in my lap for rubs and kisses. A blind cat is just a cat, that can not see...they can have a wonderful quality of life!! You can see pictures of my blind cats and seeing cats on my web site.

Welcome to Pettalk! The kittens both have limited vision, and a home with a wonderful woman here on Pettalk (catlover4ever)! Gracie has probably 95% vision in one eye, and is likely blind in the other. Her brother Gabriel has a condition called "macropthalmia" (not vet diagnosed, but I've seen others with the same eyes). I'm so glad I didn't go with what the vet said (euthanise), but gave them a chance, and they have thrived! Thank you for your offer however, and being an avid rescuer I'm sure I'll come across others in need. If you read the newer posts, you'll be quite suprised at just how much progress these two have made in such a short time. If you stick around you'll see plenty of them for years to come! Jan
