2 new additions to the family. :)

We went to Pets Mart today, and I've been wanting to get some new fishies for a while now. We had out pleco, Earle, but that's all. I'm hoping these guys live for a while.

    They're Tiger Oscars.
I think I'm going to name the darker one, Betty. Any other names suggestions?

    Adjusting to the water temp.

    Earle

    Simba loves watching them

Both of them. The lighter green one has a 'broken' fin... it's his bottom one so you can only see it if he flares it.

    More coming..

    All three of them

Question... Would these be okay for them? Sandra sent them to us a while back.

I forgot to flip this one, sorry.

Sorry the pictures aren't too great... I'll try to get good ones tomorrow.

If one is Betty ... the other needs to be Barney.

Yes, oscars can eat shrimp. My bird loves those shrimp, he eats a jar per week.

Those are some nice fish, it's too bad one of their fins is broken.. How long will it take to get better and do you think it hurts? Simba looks so cute watching them. I hope they enjoy those shrimp. Cute little fishies.

They're GORGEOUS! Are you ready to house them when they're HUGE? I love big Oscars, they're some of my favorite fishies ever....

    Thank you Wolf_Q!

Cool Oscars! I have a Pleco named Pleakly from the movie Lilo & Stitch (the only fish in the world with what looks like he has a beer belly!) I also have two Frontosas named Lilo & Stitch and another African Cichlid ( I forgot exactly what he is) named Eugene. Are Oscars Cichlids? Lilo, Stitch, and Eugene are African Cichlids. I feed them flake food, brine shrimp, beef heart cubes, blood worms, and there are other things I get in the frozen variety packs. I'm pretty sure Oscars eat all that stuff too because they are meat eaters. I've even heard of people using feeder goldfish, but I personally couldn't do it and if the feeders have any diseases then there goes your whole tank.

Thanks everyone. I took new pictures of them earlier.. May post them tonight. The pellet food I bought said they should be fed often, but they don't eat much at all and it's just caused our tank to get foggy.

My dad said we'll figure out something to do with them when they get larger
