I have mini lops and rexes, but I don't think I would ever 'trade' them to be breed.

I understand peoples opions on rabbits, the ARA groups are enough. Its one thing to breed responsibly, and another just to breed just to have " cute little babies". I can say the same for dog breeders, we have neighbors who breed kenneled dogs that get no attention. atleast rabbits on the other hand do.

yeah but you breed your rabits without having homes for the babies. that's not responsible breeding

Responsible breeding in my book and by others book who raise rabbits is preparing for the babie bunnies, weaning them and seperating them at the correct time. I do have several rabbits, and I do sell several rabbits to good homes only, although these are all seniors, even one I have for sale that I rescued. Irresponsible breeding is getting a pet rabbit from the pet store, not knowing anythign about rabbits, it may have been bred by its own brother, having babies, then keeping the babies with mama cause they dont know what to do. I see this ALL the time. I hate pepople asking me to buy bunnies for easter, they just want one for the occasion. I post on rabbit boards, which in this case are for rabbits only, but if EVERYONE (literally) on this board is against breeding rabbits, then they myswell be with the ARA, I just wont post here anymore cause Im sick of people being agaist rabbits and breeding and showing rabbits.

The 2 litters I have right now are reserved to 8 different people, which will be heading out in june. these are srs, that I have here for specific reasons, wether rescuing reasons or not. there is nothing wrong with rescue rabbits, as long as ya fix em up and find em a good pet home that wont do what they just went through. thats why ya check up with them ever 3 months.(or sooner in some cases)

if all the people who buy your rabbits would have adopted from a shelter or rescue place, then there would be fewer rabbits that need adopting and don't have homes. the only time it's ok to breed is if the shelters run out or you are doing something to help the breed
