    Dog park pup dies

One of the "regulars" at the Findlay Dog Park was hit by a car about two weeks ago and died. We had a bad wind storm that night and part of her dog run blew over and she ran away and into the path of a car. Rosie was 3. She came to live with Pat and JoJo after Pat's son decided to go live with his dad and Star (husky, second picture) missed his playmate. Pat and JoJo took Star to the Quincy (IL.) Humane Society on three seperate occasions to let her pick out a companion - and Rosie came to live with them.

After Rosie's accident, Star ripped the arms and legs off of the toy in the picture, one that she & Rosie used to play tug of war with. Rosie was 3 years old. Star is 8.

Rosie was a little on the shy side but just loved to come to the dog park and run and play with the other dogs. We will sadly miss her this spring and summer when we all begin to gather at the dog park in the evenings.

There's just been too many deaths this week. RIP Rosie. Make sure you seek out Toshie and Trixie. They's love to play catch with you.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!

I am sorry that I never met her either. What a sweetheart. Such sadness at our dog park. I was brokenhearted over hearing about Sammy's dad too. He was such a nice man.
    Godspeed to the Bridge Rosie.

Sammy's dad, Kenny died while I was in Texas. I am not even sure I knew what his name was until I read it in the paper. Carrie, Gabby's mom had left a message on my machine - and even she called him Sammy's dad. (how sad is it that we know dog's names but not their owners???) Anyway Sammy was a boxer mix and Kenny brought her out almost every night for a run. Kenny was from India and sometimes his little girls came with him but mostly it was just him and Sammy. Kenny was from India and from what I have heard he died from a parasite that was in his system for some time that attacked his sytem and went to his brain and killed him. He was only 47. We will miss both him and Samantha at the dog park.
