    Licking Plastic

Lately I find Mandy licking plastic. Plastic bags, the plastic shower liner, etc. Do anyone else find their cats licking plastic?

Yes, I have serveral who like and bite plastic. My shower liner looks like I took a small hole punch to it. I have to keep all plastic bags put away so the furkids don't end up biting a piece off and swallowing it and getting a blockage in them. So, an ounce of prevention will save lots of $$$$$ because if a blockage happen it could mean surgery. And I don't want to put any of these kids under the knife.

Yup - Mine too love to lick and bite plastic bags. Must be something in the chemical composition that makes it attractive to them so I try to keep plastic bags away from them. It can't be good for them!

I'm glad that Fister doesn't bite plastic, but he can't wait for John's color prints to come out of the printer, we have to stop him licking all the toner off! Difficult to have any papers laying next to the computer - the ones he doesn't lick, he sits on!!

It is a chemical composition in the plastic that cats like the flavor of. I can't recall if it's a fish oil chemical, or the petroleum they like. Either way, keep plastic away from kitties

Storm and Sunny love to lick my plastic bags so I have to be sure to keep them in my closet. Today I went grocery shopping and my groceries were in plastic bags. I put them down and was unloading the frozen items first. I then heard a crinkling noise and sure enough it was Sunny attacking the plastic bag. He was trying to eat the handle of the bag. Luckily I was able to take it away from him before he ate anything.
