    bird pellet conversion

have any of you that have a parakeet tried to convert from seeds to pellets? I am trying to convert Sweetpea. I figured out a good method too! I soak the pellets with apple juice and she just LOVES it! Her vet said that any bird shouldn't be kept on just pellets and to still feed her a little seed at night every day. I also feed her fresh foods every morning and night. She likes cooked rice and beans. What other things can I feed her? She really likes carrots, too.

We use the apple juice method at work when we have a hard time getting a birdie to eat pellets. Works like a charm!!

Most fruits and veggies are ok for birds to eat. I know Avocado is reputed to be bad for them though(It's up for debate, so I just wouldn't risk it). Here are a few of the things we give our birds at work:

Mango, apple, kiwi, carrot, bean sprouts, parsley (in small amounts), tofu, papaya, raspberry, blackberry, oranges, cantaloupe, potato, squash, pears, peas, etc etc...

    Thank you Wolf_Q!
