How long does it take for account to be activated?

My daughter registered, but she can't Post. A message comes up saying that she doesn't have permission to post, and one of the reasons might be that her account hasn't been activated.

How long does it take? Will she receive an email?

I can't remember - I've been on here too long.

    Thanks for the siggy, Lexi_Lover!

I believe mine was activated right away. I think I only had to press "I agree" and then I was a member lol. I didn't recieve a "password email" as far as I know...Maybe she should try re-registering?

Well I guess PetTalk must be having a problem, because I tried registering Betsy under w more nicknames and it's still not working. Harrumph. I wanted her to come here.

The activation email gets sent right away, automatically. But if you put the wrong email address in, you can't receive the account activation email.

People have registered and posted in the same day, yesteday and today, so I don't think there's a problem with the BBS software, or that could not happen. What accounts do you need us to look into? Send me a PM with the user name, please.

Are you using the same address? Or computer? When Mahayana joined PT we had the same problem. All it took for him to post was for me to log out and him to log in.

This is done by clicking on any "logged" on any post, which tales you to a screen that says "you don't have permission..." at the top, and a place to logout at the bottom.

On the next page we click "user cp" at the top. This takes you to the same kind of "you don't have permission page", with a place for him to login at the bottom.

We do this each time one of us wants to take a turn posting. Hope this helps!
