any "Clean Sweep" fans out there?

I just started watching this show when they ran a bunch of them over the holiday. What great therapy for pack-rat-itis - and to know that there are people out there worse off than me.

I watched it only once or twice. Its a pretty good show I guess, since I like those kinds of shows. But my favorites are Trading Spaces and While you were Out.

I watched a couple of the Cleansweeps, but don't care for that format.
HOWEVER, Mission Organization, a 30 minute on HGTV, is one of my favorite shows. Similar theme, but less frenetic. HGTV has a great website with bulletins boards with more ideas and advice.

I don't care for Clean Sweep because the people are so coarse and can be so heartless. I remember the first episode I ever watched, the woman had a series of books that had belonged to her great grandmother and the stupid wench said she HAD to get rid of all but one.....I think I would have been slightly irritated if someone told me I had to get rid of my family heirlooms.

I also prefer Trading Spaces and While You Were Out....

I do like the premise though....Mike and I could use some of that reorganization stuff!

HGTV is beginning a new series tonight about people who are building a house and one gets to keep it....

I did like the TBS program with the three couple who were renovating the homes...what was the name of it?

And there is the new offering by Al-Jazeera TV....

    This Old Spider Hole.

I've only seen this about 3 times but I really enjoyed it. I am an orderly person by nature and find the results refreshing. With Trading Spaces I often like the "Before" better, but with Clean Sweep it always looks better afterwards! Freckles I will keep my eye out for Mission Organization!

LOL, and I thought this thread was going to be about cleaning supplies.

    I've never heard of it.

Good point, but consider this, these people had plenty of opportunity to remove those "priceless" books from that room before the team ever showed up. What I like is that they remind you that if something is really that priceless, give it a place of honor and don't shove it in a box somewhere under the laundry.

Also, if she wanted to really keep the books, she could have gotten a friend to be the first one at the yard sale to buy them back for her.

If I were to ever be on that show, the first thing I would do is hide my family heirlooms (all both of them )....

Richard - lol about Steve and the boys.

Richard - I think it was called "House Rules".

Micki - "What Not To Wear" is a lot of fun. I like that they find real ordinary people and just make them look better instead of trying to turn them into something that they are not.

I'm on a 3 week vacation and have been watching the shows non stop. I love them. All the wedding shows too. And the make overs. I have logged in hours and hours of this channel in the past weeks.

I like the concept of clean sweep... but there are a few things about that show that get on my nerves!!

The carpenter and the host look like beach bums.... they are so tacky!.... and when day two rolls around why is EVERYONE WEARING THE SAME CLOTHES... do they even shower?!?!?.. maybe they have a big slumber party on the front lawn and talk about what brand of bleach they use on their hair....

    *rant*rant*rant*rave*rave*

now... What not to Wear.. I get real comfy on the couch to watch that show...
