Um.... just to let you guys know, I was curious and accidentally pushed the "mark as read" button, which would explain why there are apparently no new posts.... I'm really sorry.

Thanks MANDAMOO!!!!
You know those little arrows that appear next to the title of the thread to take you to a new post? It makes them disappear, and "turns off" the lightbulb that signifies new posts in that forum.

Thanks MANDAMOO!!!!
Let's see if I can explain this, lol.
It makes all the threads on the boards "old" threads...in other words, it assumes that you've read all the posts on the board. It doesn't erase anything, it just won't "relight" the lightbulbs until another new post is made. Nothing too serious.
Do you mean when you're directly at http://petoftheday.com/talk or when you're in a section of it..like say, in Pet Talk > Other > General? Because from petoftheday.com/talk, I still see the lightbulbs. I'm a bit confused though

Ashley, I don't think it effects you or anyone else...just the person that presses the button. It just clears everything on their computer.
I believe Brooke is right. It only affects the computer of the person who cliked the button. It's one of those features that may help users to navigate the board easier.Originally posted by Moose

Brooke and primabella are correct. It only affects the one person, not everyone.
I can explain how it works exactly if you want. However, do not worry.

Oh okay. That's what I thought at first but got a bit confused.

That's OK.
I am usually a bit confused most of the time. I would almost say it is a normal state for me.
