    Our newest transport/foster

We were enlisted to pickup this dog and take him to a foster group. They didn't have pictures of him, but they were led to think he was a great dane. The foster person I was to hand off to only takes danes, so they would not take him. It was either we keep him for a short time, or take him to AC. We feel AC is not an option, so we have him for a little while, until a place can be found for him.

Here is a link to Buddy's page on PetFinder.com
    http://www.petfinder.com/pet.cgi?action=2&pet=2249110

Our dogs are not happy with the addition, so we are having to keep him seperate most of the time. We hope that the rescue group finds a place for him. He is very sweet.

He looks like a coonhound to me...possibly a treeing walker. He looks like a doll. I will put out my feelers to the hound people I know.

All the great dane groups around here are full, but they were going to find room if he had been a dane. I cannot fault them for not taking Buddy. All they had was a description over the phone. I am by no means a dog/cat/pet expert, but even I knew he was not a dane when I got him.

Any news, Scott? You are so kind to keep him until he can be placed in foster care or a permanent home. Hope it isn't too disruptive in your house!

I just called my friend who does Black and Tan rescue to see if she knows anyone. I'm sure she can't because she has a bunch of the dogs that came out of the raid in Arkansas a few months ago. I believe that she took 6 of the dogs (there were several hundred of them being kept to be sold to research labs). I am hoping that maybe she might have some contacts that could help.

Hopefully we can move Buddy to a new place this weekend. [crossed fingers]
Having him is upsetting our dogs some, but the biggest thing is with having to keep him seperate, he is not getting the human interaction and attention he deserves.

Not to my knowledge, this weekend transport email I have from Judy is for a cocker spaniel and Persian cat.

Our dogs and Buddy are not getting along, no fights yet. We are having to keep him seperate from our dogs, and he is not getting the human interaction he deserves. I am going out of town this weekend, so I am taking him to the transport/rescue contact this week.

    Scott,

Hi - I'm new here. I coordinate transports for rescue dogs. Mugsy told me about this forum after the members helped us out biig-time with a transport this weekend.

What the rescue did here is unforgivable. They committed to take the dog then dumped him on a transporter. I'd like to know who did this - would you send me the name of the so-called rescue group either via this board or privately.

More importantly though, have you found a place for this dog or is he still at your house? His petfinder page says he's in GA. Is that where you are located? I'll ask a rescuer friend of mine if she might be able to find some space somewhere.
