    Is eating hair healthy?????

Spike keeps walking over to Max and grabbing mouthfuls of his hair like he is an all you can eat buffet!

He isn't hurting Max because Max sheds like crazy and he just takes the hair that usually comes out with brushing. And when I brush Max I do it outside because there is sooo much hair and because it became a constant battle with Spike who was always trying to eat it.

Is this just some weird quirk or do I have to worry about this?

I have to fight with him when I sweep to keep him out of the pile of dog hair, dirt etc. because he is always trying to eat the hair.

    Any ideas????

You had me laughing out loud there--an all you can eat buffet!!!!!!

I'm no expert, but Kito eats his hair too--when I brush him he goes after it like it's a steak flying through the air. The other three often go after it too.
    I doubt it's healthy, but I don't think it's harmful either.

Well, Smokey's another quirky one, because he chases &
eats his own hair too. It's a real battle when I brush him. I
just try to keep his mouth stuffed with dog bisquets so I have
time to pick up all the flying fur. I can't imagine it's good for
him, but I don't think he gets much.

I'm glad Pit Bulls don't have a lot of hair.

I don't know how bad the hair is for them, but I do know they can't digest it. I think dogs have an easier time passing it than cats do though. Oh the countless hairballs I've had to clean up. My wierdo dogs just eat grass like a bunch of cows and don't vomit. I think they take the "bull" in Pit Bull too seriously.
