Are Majestic Palms toxic to cats?

I have three Majestic Palm trees that I need to bring inside for the winter and I need to know if they are okay to have around the cats. Anyone have a clue? I've looked all over the internet and can't find any info.

Well, I probabaly did the same searches as you, and I didn't find the majestic Palm. I did a search for palms on the list of non toxic plants and alot of palms are there.

I found 2 palms on the toxic side. Dracaena Palm and Sago Palm.

I even tried to search by the latin name and still no luck.

Sorry, hopefully something I did may help, but I have the feeling you have probabaly done all of this.

Good luck. If you find an answer please let me know. Not that I have the plant, but I searched and now I am interested.

Thanks Bryan. I saw some of the other palms listed as non-toxic too so it is probably safe to bring them in. My main problem will be with Jazz wanting to dig in the dirt and making a huge mess in the sunroom.

Right now I have the palms in the garage but they are already turning yellowish so I'd better decide something soon. Maybe I will call my vet Monday and get his opinion. I'll let you know what he says.

    Thanks again.

To stop or limit the amount of digging, cover the dirt with river rock (smooth stones). They are a little too heavy and too smooth for your cat to easily dig out of the planter. It really worked well with Mango!
