    patella luxation (joint click)

Thanks to those of you who responded regarding my bichon's joint clicking. The vet said it is mild patella luxation. He said to just keep an eye on it for now. He is not a fan of immediate surgery. Right now it doesn't affect him. He's in no pain and it has only popped out once. If it gets to the point that it pops often or he gets inflamation, we'll need to have it taken care of. Unfortunatly, he may develop arthritis because of it (as he gets older).

donnab, I'm so glad it's so mild. Well done for noticing it! With luck your little furkid should have a totally normal life. Many dogs go through their life with this condition and no one ever sees anything wrong! Good luck with it, although you shouldn't need it!
