    Upset stomach

Is there anything you can give to a dog who has an upset stomach? Jack didn't seem like he felt good this morning and his stomach was gurgling. Is there a Pepto Bismol for dogs?

    Tummy meds

I've yet to see a dog that likes Pepto.

You could try Cimetidine. For a 75+ lb dog the dosage is 200 mg twice daily. Also the Rantidine (Zantac) at 75 mg might provide more prompt blocking of stomach acid. Ask your Vet for the appropriate dose based on your dog's weight.

If the nausea persists a trip to the Vet, with possible antibiotics for possible food poisoning is in the offing- dogs do eat strange things. If the nausea is severe, you may wish to ask your Vet for Metoclopromide.

You've gotten great advice already. Dogs so often get stomach upsets of unknown origin! My vet usually prescribes a little Pepto Bismol, (human variety) a diet of boiled rice and chicken in small amts. and fluids. Make sure he's drinking. If he starts vomiting/diarrhea, I'd definitley give the vet a call. Hope Jack feels better soon!

Exectly what I was thinking. Pepto and a very bland diet for a few days and I am sure he will be much better!

I've given Angus our rottie small amounts of Pepto (the human kind) for his upset tummy & it seems to calm it in a very short time. Now of course he didn't like it, but it worked
Hope Jack is feeling better soon!
