Any OH, PA, NJ drivers willing to help some sad hounds????

I got this from a friend... I know this is short notice, but it's sooooo sad. Also need some MI drivers. Kim can drive to K-zoo in MI. Mike and I are going to drive the Angola to Toledo leg.....Amy???????? Phred??????? PLEASE!!!

Two of these lucky boys don't know how lucky they really are. They are
two of the 122 dogs and one cat that were seized by the USDA from Class
B Dealer CC Baird in Little Rock AR. The remaining 600 dogs that CC
Baird has in his kennel the USDA were unable to confiscate due to
technicalities. These two have managed to get out and will transported
to a temporary foster home in MI along with more than 23 other hounds
this Thursday from Little Rock AR. Now we need to get them to their
permanent foster home in Howell NJ where they can grow strong and learn
how to be dogs again. All of the dogs that were seized were very
underweight and the attending vet felt it best to wait until they had
gained a bit of weight before doing anything other than procedures
needed to save their lives. They are basically healthy other than being
very underweight and HW positive. Please help us get these boys to a
place where they will never be treated as livestock again. The
remaining 16 Hounds are being dispersed to fosters/rescues throughout
    the Midwest.

Moses is the 3rd Hound on this transport and is a foster that Kim has
that needs to go to Permanent foster with Lori. Kim is taking on 7
Fosters with the AR hounds and felt it best to move Youngster Moses
along where he could get more attention with Lori.

If you would like to visit #007 James Bond (page 7) and #235 (page 4),
please visit this website http://www.aphis.usda.gov/ac/. To view the AR
dogs and see their story go to the upper right hand corner of the
    website.

If you can’t help drive, PLEASE help by crossposting to your friends
that may be available to help drive!!

My daughter-in-law and I could have helped in PA but hurricane Is-a-bitch sent a tree into the windshield of her mini-van. I doubt she can get it fixed in time. I just don't trust my 84 pickup truck for a trip of this importance Oh I wish I could help, hopefully next time (why does there always have to be a next time )

Molly.. LOL! I'll give Mike a big ol' hug. I'd drag Andy along, but their wouldn't be any room for him... though I could put him in the trunk.

Oh Laurie... I'm so sorry to hear about your DIL's mini van.

You read my mind Amy! I haven't heard from the other driver, so when we do I will let you know. Do you have any suggestions? We'll be coming in on the tollroad.

I think ther eis a vistor's area on the Turnpike at I-75. There really isn't much right there otherwise. If you want to stay on the West side of Toledo, you can get off at Reynolds Road, Route 20 and there is a Bob Evans and several other places nearby. Further to he West is the Airport, although that is really "Swanton" and other the the airoert, there is much out that way.

Here's an update. We're covering Pittsburgh to Altoona. Can heartworm be passed to our dogs or is it strictly passed from mosquitos?

Beth, I do not believe that heartworms are contagious. Your dogs should be just fine.

Beth are you doing the over night?? As far as I know heartworm can't be passed from dog to dog....I called our vet to make sure and he is going to call back when he gets into the office at 1pm.

Thanks for helping out. I'll tell Pam that you found out from here. I'm very pleased that it looks like this will be a go.

No, I would have to leave the dogs outside overnight and I wouldn't be comfortable doing that.

Yeah, me too. But we would have to leave at 3:00 on Saturday to pick the dogs up in P-burgh at 5:00 and my husband works Saturday. We still have another day. Let's pray that what needs filled will get filled.
