Dang.. u got it but you guessed like 6 at a time.. lol. That's okay though It was Canaan Dog. Good Job! It was hard because my scanner really doesn't do a very good job on my pictures!

O_O one of the parents was a purebred Canaan Dog?? How cool! Did you get to meet the parents of the dog? I was going to adopt (what I thought was) a Canaan Dog/Border Collie mix once..but someone else got him Was it an accidental breeding or on purpose? I talked to a Canaan Dog breeder once and they said since it's a pretty rare breed, it's unlikely there are many (or any) Canaan Dog mixes.. that's why I was wondering.

Sorry for guessing so many times.. The first two weren't 100% guesses though.. just my thinking outloud..

I met someone who rescued a Canaan dog (by the name of Chaos) from a Shelter. Since he's a rescue, they aren't 100% sure but everything about him says Canaan dog and the shelter labelled him that as well. Pretty crazy eh?

I did meet the parents (isn't that a movie? ) The crossing of the 2 wasn't planned. Both Kelpies and Canaans were raised at the same place and it was an accident that resulted in the greatest dog I've ever known The Canaan was black and white patched and the Kelpie was black as well. Everyone that meets this dog, first comments on how DARK he is, and I don't blame them
There WERE 2 other pups born.. they are somewhere out there in the world

How cool!!! Sounds like he was a great dog!! A wonderful combination as well ^_^ Gotta love 'em herding dogs!!

And Ash - That makes sense.. sometimes there are like, purebred dogs (like *cough*Kaedyn and Sesh) that end up in shelters.. I guess some people get a dog and can't handle it.. since a Canaan Dog is part of the herding group, like maybe someone got it and didn't realize how much work a herding dog is, or maybe it got lost and the owners never found it.. you never know..
