The drink sounds good, but could I have it with tequila instead? I don't like gin very much.

My summer has been over for a couple of weeks now. We have been in school now for 3 weeks.

Thank goodness you started this thread Richard. This has been a h*** of a week so far and I've been waiting for the Thursday one to start. I feel too new to start one myself.
I will be wearing the appropriate AF attire although I won't look the same....LOL LOL

The DOTD sounds good! Any chance of getting one a day early??

Crappest week for a long time by far. I'm dead scared for my kitties and the mean lady downstairs!! See Cat General for more details.

In the meantime I'll take an Appletini. Make it big. Real big. And real green. A few maraschino cherries wouldn't hurt, either.

    Soledad,

    Appletini

    1 oz vodka

the Zipmeister requests rasberry ice tea and a stuffed avocado...

    A&M,
    A vanilla milkshake..

and what would everyone do for a Klondike bar???

(klondike bar is a square of vanilla ice cream covered with chocolate....the trick is to eat it before the chocolate melts all over your hands.....the commercials sing this little ditty -
What would you do for a Klondike Bar while the actors do dumb things....)

I'll take a DOTD - as long as it has one of those little umbrellas.

I did a google search and there really is a drink called

    BEACH BLANKET BINGO

Equal parts of Cranberry & Grapefruit juice, Splash of Soda

Stir juices over ice in a Collins glass, top with soda, Garnish with a Lime wedge

Granted there's no booze in it but I think it would be very fitting for the younger one's attending the beach party or for those of us who are designated drivers.

Edited: just did another search and there really is a drink called "Beam me up Scotty". Damn it Jim I'm just an old country doctor, not an engineer!

Must get back to work now after swatting all those mosquitoes.

I think I'll start with an Appletini, thank you! That will fill my fruit quota for the day, and then I can start drinking

I would eat a Klondike bar as soon as I finish my Appletini - do I get one for doing something that silly?!
