Being fixed should'nt have made him crazy. Could you explain more?

My dog Kiki got very aggressive after he was fixed. I think it's the fact that he was handed over to stangers, and was hurt(surgery is painful after). My dog is now very warry of stangers, anyone who comes to the door, and even other dogs. I believe it's the fact that he thinks that anyone he doesn't know is goign to take him and hurt him again.

Could you explain more into depth? Was he fixed very recently? What's his normal activity level?

If it was very recent...it may be a sort of "surprise"...because losing "that" could be quite a loss to some dogs....and the behavior may just be temporary

Why was your vet a stranger?? Was that the first time the dog had seen the vet?? Our vet fixed Kito, and he loves her to death!!

Well, I'm not sure if it's the first time he'd seen a vet. He'd been in for a check up a few weeks before. But the fact that he was left there, operated on, and left there for two days with people he didn't really know, I think that spooked him somewhat, becase we couldn't take him home for two days. And also the fact that the surgery was painful, even after he'd woken up from the anesthetics. And, he wasn't allowed outside or do anything vigerously active fro two weeks till the stitches disolved.

TWO days??

Leaving them overnight is normal but never 2 days, espeically for a male! Thats very strange.
