    This is why I adopt

I know I mentioned before the satisfaction I get from adopting dogs from shelters. Here are some before and after pics of Penny Lane after 3 weeks. I just wanted to share my joy at her improvement. We go back to the vet tomorrow so wish us luck!!!

Here is Penny Lane the first night home - Hiding under the table, ears tucked back, very nervous

Here she is today:Playing with her new toy. She is a bit of a toy hog - she takes them away from Leo and hids them

and here she is romping with Leo in the yard

This is my favorite - it seems to be saying THANKS MOM!!

And yes - that is a waterproof pad under her pillow. Helps save the floor, although my laundry duties have doubled in the last few weeks

I agree. The look on Penny Lane's face in that last picture says it all. What a joy to see her transformed into a relaxed and happy girl.

AW, Penny looks so much better now. Look at that happy
smile. Love makes the soul bloom & lightens the heart. You
can almost feel the love from her to you thru her picture. I'm
sure she IS saying "Thanks Mom". Hugs to Penny & Leo.

Thanks everyone for the good vibes. It always amazes me that no matter how much a dog goes through - abuse, neglect, fending for themselves, etc - how much capacity they still have to love and trust humans. If people go through the same things, they usually end up being psycopaths

pretty puppy. what kind is she? how old is she?

Penny Lane is about 6 years old and she is a small 35lb Shepard Mix. I have no idea what she is mixed with - seems more Heinz 57
