    Dogs with SARS,,,

I heard from some of the people I work with and from the news that dogs are one of the "biggest threats" of SARS.

They can actually spread it to humans(that hasn't been proven yet)and the owners who find it suspicious are giving their dogs away or KILLING them!!! Hmm...I 'd never do that, even if maggie or ladie had SARS!

Someone here in ManhattanNYC said that his best friend that came here, was here to take his dog to a dog park, and he went to his friends house and suddenly got the symptoms. This I doubt very much that it is true, but wuddeva.

I will try to get the article I found this in later

Kia and I were in Toronto when the area was under "warning" for SARS. Neither she nor I are sick.

I'm not saying it's not possible for a dog to get it. There's no way of knowing it unless an animal is found to be sick with similar or strange symptoms.

As far as I know, out of all the reported human cases, not one person has reported that a dog or any other animal for that matter is sick.

Sounds like mass paranoia to me.

Do not quote me on this, but I didn't think it was possible for illnesses of that sort to cross from human to dogs and vise versa. Why wouldn't pneumonia cross over, or common colds, or other infections cross back and forth? Hmm I'm not sure.

I know with AIDS and the connection between humans and primates is a little different.

I just don't think it is possible for humans to spread illnesses to dogs nor dogs spread illnesses to humans. I will try to look on the net for that though.

People get paranoid about this sort of thing. It's a terrible disease, and they are just trying to cover all the bases. I don't think that dogs can get it, but that's my opinion.

A guy who was into work last night told my friend that he was afraid to order Chinese food after all of this started happening--what a moron

I think ppl are overreacting about SARS. they did the same thing with WestNileVirus and noone has died.

I know ppl have died from SARS. but it is making ppl panic, which shouldent happen.
