need advice on new kitten please!

My girlfriend just adopted a new furbaby. He's is a 9 week old brown tabby. Total cuteness overload!
We're wondering about his food- we heard that you should wet the kitten kibble a little before giving it to him as his mouth is so little.... does anyone have any advice on this or genereal kitten feeding?

You should feed as high a quality 'kitten' food that your budget allows. The dry food should be moistened with a little water and can be heated up just before serving. You can also give some canned food, but most people prefer to free feed with dry food. Again, it's important that you do use kitten food rather than cat food because of the different nutritional makeup.

If necessary, you can heat the food up a bit before serving. This will make the scent of the food stronger. I only suggest this in case the kitten doesn't eat it at first.

And please avoid giving the kitten milk. Usually their stomachs will be upset by milk products.

Please be careful when heating up the food, especially wet food. It can get sooo hot inside! I think it is better to heat the water- NOT TO A BOIL, and then add that to the food. Then, you know the temp of the water. Microwaves can be funny...

At 9 weeks old, they can eat their food dry without softening it with water. If he's not eating, you could do that but he should be fine eating it dry. I sometimes mix in KMR with thier food if they are skinny and undernourished.
