my dog has a growth on her neck.. :(

My mom was petting Tikeya my siberian husky who is 4 years old. She notest a weired wort or cyst of some kind. It is pink and it is like a bubble. My moms first reaction was to pop it, but I scream "no" just in time, Because I herd theat popping cysts on can be bad. We are taking her to the vet soon. This week hopefully. I hope its not cancerous. Anyones dog have somthing similar? I am really worried about my dog.

It's probably just a wart or cyst. My Chi mix had them al the time and my dad's terrier has several. Is is pink like cotton candy pink or darker?

I hope it is nothing, and it probably is. We'll keep her in our thoughts, and good luck at the vet's.

I'm not positive on this, as I'm not a vet....but....

I *thought* cysts were usually soft and squishy, and under the skin, not a pink bubble on the skin.

It sounds more likely to be some type of wart. Nebo had a large pink bump (looked like a slightly larger pencil eraser) on his leg removed when he was 4 months old.

Both of my 2 older dogs, especially Smokey, have these small pink growths on their skin. I've seen *many* dogs with these, it seems rather common in older dogs. I think they are harmless.

Let us know what the vet says, I hope it's nothing serious.

My Ashley (RB) developed a couple of these as she aged. They were nothing serious and the vet said it was only necessary to have them removed for cosmetic reasons if they bothered us. Hope your pup is OK, but you are wise to have it checked out.

Have you taken her to the vet yet??
I'm sure that will be able to reassure you, and don't forget to let us know what it is.

Well if they are "highly cancerous" Smokey should have died of cancer long ago......he's had them for at least 8 years.....

Of course, it may not be the same thing that your dog has. The vet took some of Smokey's off once, and they just grew back.

That sounds like the type of cysts Lolly gets. She'll get a couple at a time that stay for months then go away on their own. If this type is what your dog has, then they are harmless. I've been to the vet a couple different times just to double check that Lolly's are normal and they are. The vet will pop it to help determine what it is. Good luck at the vet visit.

Be sure to take Tikeya to the vet to be sure. Shiloh, my 5 yr. old healthy GSD just had three lumps removed. Two looked ok to the vet, but one was suspicious. After having removed all three and observing the suspicious one, she determined that all three were ok. She was worried about the one on Shiloh's leg.

Killian, my 9 yr. old GSD has had a few lumps removed in his time. All were benign.

Good luck at the vet and keep us updated!!
