I love him very much, he is not is pain, he eats, goes to the bathroom regular, and yes, it is sometimes the most stressfull potties, poopies to handle but, what am I suppose to do, he is living------he just can't walk lately......Please tell me what you think a person should do?????

Thanks ~ very confused about what to do.........Thanks for listening.

    Re: My dog???

First I would like to welcome you to Pet Talk.

As long as he can get up, even with a bit of help,
he is not in pain and is eating ok.
I would say his quality of life is still good.
You will know when the time comes, he will no
longer feel like that puppy anymore. He truely sounds
like a wonderful special boy, especially at age 14.
I wonder if acupuncture (sp) would help at all?

We have a golden named Chase that has hip dyplasia. He had
surgery when he was about a year old. The surgery was not a
success as he had to be on rimidyl just to be able to walk without
pain. Anyway to make a long story short, we took him to a vet that does acupuncture and it has been a success. He hasn't had a treatment in over a year and is doing great. I don't understand really how it works only that it does. It's worth a try.
