Is my Chihuahua normal??

Hi,

I got a Male chihuahua from a breeder almost 1 year ago. He weight 11 lbs and he as no fat at all. I tought Male Chihuahua was normaly 8 to 9 lbs MAX.

And more...

His ears are not completly pointing UP and is Bottom JAW is OVER is Upper Jaw.. Weird?

Do you think it's a 100% male chihuahua????

The father weight: 8 lbs

and the mother 4 or 5lbs

Having an overbite is not uncommon in Chihuahuas. And he looks like a Chi to me ... some dogs of any breed end up above the standard size/weight, I wouldn't worry about it as long as he's healthy, and you don't plan to show him - that's the only people who care about size, really! Judges!

I'm glad he looks normal and even if he wasn't, I would always love him anyway

but at last he as a avantage of the other chihuahua I saw, he have bigger bones compare to the average so, he is less fragile and very strong for is size.

yeah, i think its great for little dogs to not look so frail...like some chi's i've seen look like the wind could knock them down no offense to chi's, but i have seen some that way

Taco looks absolutely adorable to me!
I've know a few Chi's in my time some have been really small teacup size and some have a little on the big side.... all have been exceptionally cute and loving!

Hey Silencex, welcom to Pet Talk. I know that you will enjoy the baord. There are plenty of nice people and there is plenty of info. here. So welcome aboard!

I beleive your boy looks just fine. I mean he has some of the same traits my boy has(Cisco). Cisco's ears don't always stand up like they should and he has a bit of an underbite. Either of these traits would disqualify him from the show ring, but I'm not interested in showing or breeding him I just wanted a pet. These traits could be from his breeding or just from his genetics. He is a very intelligent, obedient, lovable little boy. And this is all that matters to me! I believe you have a handsome boy and like you said you will always love him anyway.

Chis vary so much, i have 4 girl chihuahuas, they are all fully grown, Sully is now 8lb Penny rescue weighs 3-3'5 kilo, Fynn weighs 1-2 kilo, Rosie rescue weighs 1-3 kilo.

I just wanted to say Taco is so cute!! And he looks like a very normal Chi to me.
