01/03/03 - Rocky

Rocky is desperately in need of a foster home. We were contacted by a shelter in NY asking if we could help save a wonderful dog that came into their facility a month ago with badly damaged paws on both rear legs. While NBR would like more than anything to bring him into the rescue program - we cannot do so without a foster home.

Rocky was picked up as a stray - dragging his back legs. It appears as though his hind feet were frozen and suffered severe frostbite. While treating his injuries daily for the past month, the shelter staff has fallen in love with this sweet, gentle dog. They now face the dreadful task of euthanizing their friend due to lack of a permanent home. A foster home that can medicate and bathe Rocky's hind feet on a daily basis is needed to save his life.

Rocky is a 2-4 year old male that will need to be neutered as soon as the vet thinks his health has improved enough. He seems to get along well with the other animals he has come into contact with at the shelter. Rocky is a sweet, submissive boy that warms up quickly to strangers and rewards them with gentle kisses. He takes treats very gently and is grateful for every kind word or gesture he receives.
