Dearest Vincent Price, a.k.a. Vinny, you are gorgeous! What an adorable young man you are, with that sleek ebony fur that looks so soft and reflects the light so beautifully. And what a sweet face you have, with those lovely big golden eyes! One could say you're the perfect choice for Halloween, since black cats have this scary reputation especially around this time. But we all know that you black kitties are just as sweet and precious and lovable as all the other kitties! We're so glad and grateful that your dear Purrrsons rescued you from the animal shelter, and we thank them for choosing rescue. You get great care, what with your human "brother" and "granddad" both being veterinarians. I wish I could reach through the screen and over to St. Joseph, MO to pet you, and pet your dear eight-month-old adopted tortoiseshell sister, Trixie, too! I can't, of course, but I know your loving and beloved Purrrsons will pet you both for me.
And what a delightful Purrrsonality you have! You don't sound spooky or mysterious at all! You're full of energy and make your dear Purrrsons laugh with your antics. You're very much Daddy's boy, sitting on his lap during lunch and napping on him in the easy chair on lazy weekend afternoons. You love very much to cuddle with Meowmie, too. When you're not snoozing, you're getting up to mischief! You're so smart, your Purrrsons had to get baby-locks for the cabinets to keep you from opening them. And it seems you can even make your own ice with the refrigerator ice-maker! You have fun playing "kitchen hockey" and hiding any credit cards you find. You love your "squeaky mouse" and "chirpy cricket" and ANY box of any size. And you play tricks on your tortie sister Trixie, too. You and she and your Purrrsons all love each other very much, don't you. What a wonderful love-filled home you share!
Congratulations, darling Vinny, on being chosen today's Cat of the Day! We hope you and your dear Trixie and Purrrsons and all your family and friends are enjoying a fine celebration, full of fun and lovies and all your favorite treats and games, perhaps another round of "kitchen hockey!"

I meant," said Ipslore bitterly, "what is there in this world that truly makes living worthwhile?"
Death thought about it.
CATS, he said eventually. CATS ARE NICE.
